Hiking - Walking: Falkenham to the Deben Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny and hot :) Max Speed: Distance Covered: 2.50 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Sunday 11th August - walk *** – Falkenham Church to the Deben
including a picnic with ‘Emily’ – sunny and hot.
After 6 consecitive days windsurf foiling it was nice to have a day off
although some were thinking of a trip to the Stour I didn’t fancy the
drive over on a hot Sunday so decided to do my exercises slowly in a hot
back garden while Mag got busy with her cordless power tools and our huge
hedge at the bottom of our garden has disappeared, it is just going to take
a couple of trips to the dump to get rid of it, I did help a little moving
the cuttings down the side of our house! Being a hot Sunday the coast is
best avoided as it would be very busy so I packed a picnic and we drove the
5 miles to one of our favourites, Falkenham Church where we had a very
peaceful picnic with stunning views down to the River Deben and didn’t
see a soul until we reached the river on our walk, just lovely. Although it
was pretty hot and we were knackered after a hectic week we decided to head
off on a walk, actually walking 2.50 miles slowly! We ambled down to the
Deben to watch the boat action before returning. Then back at Kirton I spot
a combine working so walk across the field to take a few pics before
retyrning home for a welcome cuppa but not before Mag tries out her new
leave rake:)
